Earlier this year I was having a lengthened conversation with my cousin while trying to fix his laptop at the same time. We were talking about whether he should try to "save" his really fast (2.8 Ghz Celeron 768MB RAM) but old laptop.
Then the conversation steered towards his younger brother. My cousin (the younger one, let's call him "Sheep" for clarity) had problems. He used to bully me when I was in preschool, and was always part of the "in" group. He wasn't PURELY EVIL, but I thought that it had something to do with his father passing away during his childhood. Her mother, my aunt, was constantly busy with her dental clinic, trying to provide for her two, then three, then eventually four children; so there might not have been time for him or whatnot.
My aunt married a jerk, and was the sperm donor of her two youngest children. He left her for another woman--and since he had a lot of money, got away with it. He probably is satisfied with just sending his children material things--not the inexpensive but more meaningful presence in their lives. He used to bully Sheep, and would treat my aunt like she wasn't even his wife. It wasn't until long that my older cousin stood up against him and "evicted" him from the house. Besides, the jerk was only 5'1" tall and my cousin was 5'8" and had a towering build. lol
Sheep had stopped schooling four times in his lifetime: twice in high school and twice in college. During those times all he would do is sleep, wake up, eat, and spend my aunt's hard earned cash. First there was drag racing, then he tried to go into extreme BMX, and then there was airsoft. During that entire period, jewelry have been pawned, computers have been sold, expensive things in their house started disappearing, and cars started breaking down. He was even caught trying to shoplift even though he had the money to buy things with. I remember my aunt telling me that he even had the gall to say that she deprived him from the things he likes to do.
I think he's a bum-- an expensive one at that. He even went so far as to sell his antique gold necklace that's been with him since his father was still alive. The problem is not in his friends, in fact they do work hard to get what they want. Sheep is just being lazy, trying to get the easy way in and out of anything.
So my older cousin has an iron fist when he's around, this is because he studies in another city to get a degree in dentistry. Sheep has no unrequested access to the family car and would make her sister's laptop a lair for viruses, and I thought that having a gay uncle with diminished capacity was bad...
