honestly, i don't know exactly what we are doing yet. i know that i will spend today at work, then will need to get some additional work done when i get home

we might have a friend come in from out of town, but that's still up in the air as of right now. if he does come in, we might be gaming. also, we will be watching the seahawks game tomorrow, particularly if this friend comes in from out of town. and sunday we will watch the giants cowboys game.

in between all that, i will be working--answering student emails, responding to student postings in my online class, uploading materials to the online course.

in addition to that, we will be going car shopping.

I'd like to be able to say that I am cleaning my house, but c'mon, who's gonna believe that?

I think I'll make B take me to see The Bucket List.

And I've rediscovered my sewing room, so I may spend some quality time fondling my sewing machine.

Work, work, work.  Hopefully I'll get to squeeze in a peek at the Colts/Chargers game on Sunday while I'm @ work.

oh yeah, and i should add that if our friend is coming in from out of town, we'll be cleaning house too. we've managed to keep it mostly under control this week but need to clean up some stuff if company is arriving, otherwise it will wait a bit.

I might go see The Bucket List or Charlie Wilson's War.  I really want to see Sweeney Todd, but I'm going to have to go to the nearby larger city if I decide to do that.  Besides that, I'll be working on my blogs and begin the process of closing out the farm books for 2007.

  • CreativeWoman said on Jan 11, 2008....
    Ed,
Yes, I do the all the financial dealings for the farm while I chase my dreams in the background.  It will probably take me a couple of weeks to close out the books and get things ready for tax time if I work steadily at it.  I'm going to revamp the report I do to make it more targeted, so that might take just a little longer.  I do need to get busy on it.

Today is my brother's b-day, so I'll spend a chunk of time on the phone today, mostly trading fond insults. Job searching tonight for DH, then blogging for the mom board, cleaning tomorrow and maybe GW tomorrow night with my bff if lb sleeps...then Sunday, we'll watch the Cowboys stomp the Giants (teasing aside, I think it's going to be a good game).

Then I am hitting the movie theatre. I don't know what we are going to watch yet. I just need to leave my house for awhile.

Tomorrow morning I have to take two of my girls to their dance classes (though my oldest might be dropping out--long story).  Then the two oldest girls will go to a neighbor girl's birthday party in the afternoon.  It's at a local hotel that has an indoor pool, so I have to dig out their swimsuits and I have NO idea where to start looking.

As for Sunday, I have no idea.  If my ex doesn't want to get the oldest girls, I'll probably sleep in a bit.

I'm sure we'll be watching some football as well.

I'm cleaning the house up and down. Next week I'm trowing my birthday party, and I want to get the flooring done in our house. Close to three months later, it still hasn't been done because of all the junk on the floor. If I can get in touch with the girl I'll hang out with her. Jags and Pats on Saturday.
  • silverwhisper said on Jan 11, 2008....
eilan: [blink] i'll confess i'm kinda curious why your oldest may be dropping dance class. ? and wait--the party's at a hotel? i mean, that's cool about the pool but who the heck can find a swimsuit in winter?!

ed: After much searching, swearing, and tearing up of things, I managed to find last the girls' swimsuits from summer '06--and they still fit. I have no idea where this past summer's suits got to.

The short version of the story is that my oldest is dropping the class because the experience is supposed to be fun and she's not having fun with it. In fact, she's stressing way too much.

    Well, Saturday is my birthday.

Hmm. I replaced a light fixture this past week which unfortunately required more electrical work than I wanted to do. So I will have to get back up into the (small) attic and install some junction boxes around my wire connections.

Since I'll be up there, I also need to install an antenna drop for the TV in my daughter's room.

Saturday night we're going out to dinner.

It's a busier weekend than usual. I was going to work Saturday, but that idea quickly left my mind.

We are having lots of fun!  When the storm blew a large limb down on our roof, it did substantial damage, so JR & both our son-n-laws, and four strong guys from our church are going to put a new roof on.

Doesn't that sound like fun?  They started today, and I kept cooking up the grub and feeding everyone.  And they kept cracking jokes and teasing me about anything and everything.  It was fun!  We get to do the entire thing tomorrow.

They work on the roof, and I cook up the grub.......

The movie was awesome. It is based on the BBC Planet Earth series. In the movie they started with the North Pole region and worked down to the South Pole. Some of the footage was truly spectacular and the south recording riveting. A chorus of lions getting anxious about attacking an elephant, the bird calls of the equitorial jungles or whale song beneath the waves added audio drama, suspense, humour and beauty to the visual experience. Watching a cheetah catch a baby gazelle in slow motion or seeing elephants swimming in a river, or a seal swimming through a school of fish that moved like a living cloud of silver and black left me awestruck. I'd like to get the DVD but seeing it on the big screen was most impressive.
