Have you ever envision yourself in the company of robots years from now? Walking in the street with a mecha? Serve by a humanoid in shops, dine-in, and among other establishment? Or be greeted in your own doorway by a househelp robo? Perhaps a common mecha pet in every homes? Or maybe a super humanoid cops and bodyguards? Cool huh! Seems exciting being populated by these human machines. Just like the movie A.I. (Artificial Intellegence).

Asimo is the exact example of a super humanoid, develop by Honda. He can speak different languages, dance, sing, walk, and can do certain task. Years from now every homes, offices, community in the world will have Asimo. The time when every one can afford his market price. But if you have USD 1,000,000.00 maybe you can have one today.

Recently Asimo, Japan's Ambassador of Technology visited our coutry, the Philippines. Asimo represented Japan in celebration of 50 years of Philippine-Japan Friendship. He was cheered by huge fans, he danced and took part of quizzess to allow them to get to know more about him. ASIMO is one amazing machine. The Future of Humanoids holds a promise of superb technical advancement. Let's all hope that it is for the betterment of human living not its distruction.

I have always thought that robots would be next big thing like PCs were in the 80s and 90s. I just hope they have safeguards built in so they are not like the robots in RoboCop. Yikes.

:) yeah, lets hope for that!

    Cool right?

Don't you know that the man who coined the word robot is Karel Capek?

Have you seen Gizmo? A robot that can interact with humans?

Its great to have an experience of making simple robots. You can build one easily. All you need is a basic understanding of microelectronics, electromechanicals, and programming.

There's in a market called sumo bot. You may buy one if you're really interested. I think that costs around Php 5K.

yeah cool! Karel Capek not familiar to me, but now I know.
I've seen humanoid robots in tv and robots in manufacturing company.

Sumo Bot? where is that? You build a robot before?

Yup sumo bot...there are lots of robots available in the market.
Try this Sumo Bot, fun and easy to build, you may customize it to your own.
I've seen it in Alexan Electronics Center.
    Costs around Php5K.
It's a nice start for building robots.

    yeah. just a simple robot...

It chases a light (laser pointer)
follows a line that you made (black line on the floor)
you can play on it and compete with other bots...tilt them all!
also adapt a remote control on it so I can sneak up some rooms that I can't wirelessly (camera with night vision embedded)...sneaky!
