Tuesday night, I met author Dave Eggers. He was at the main branch of the Philadelphia Library, discussing his most recent book. Haven't read the book he was discussing, but the two of his novels I've read have had a profound impact on how I write. I had him sign a copy of his memoirs, which almost won him a Pulitzer in 2001. It's hard to find really candid prose these days, and it was just the line of writing I want to research for my own work.
