For me, the abortion issue comes down to ...
When do we change from pro choice to pro life?
I think we are all pro choice at some point, and pro life at another point. The question is when we change from one to the other.
We're all pro choice before the guy has his climax. You are free to choose whether or not to make a baby. I suppose most of us are pro choice when the sperms are swimming around, looking for an egg.
Once a sneaky lil sperm squirms into the egg, some of us switch from pro choice to pro life. I don't. I'm still pro choice at that point.
A month passes, a visitor fails to show up, a woman notices she may be pg. I'm still pro choice at that point. A bunch of cells, to me, is a bunch of goo.
Somewhere in the first trimester, a woman chooses to have an abortion. I'm with her 100%. You don't want a baby, you don't have a baby. Frankly, what do I care? It's your business, not mine. Couldn't care less.
Fast forward to the 9th month. Baby is pretty well formed. You really want to tear her or him apart? You really want to vacuum the baby out or cut the baby to pieces? Wahh, wahhh, wahhh. I think most of us have made the changeover to pro life by then.
Of course in some cultures, they don't make the changeover to pro life even after the baby is born, and they murder babies, usually female ones, after birth. They are pretty radically pro choice.
So for most of us, sometime in between the first trimester and the 9th month, we change from pro choice to pro life. And then we go back to pro choice when they get older and we wanna kill them.
