medicine has sure went down hill in the last 20 years. Went for my dot physical yesterday and the doc. said my blood pressure was to high 138/80 . i told her to read the form dot accepts blood pressures up to 140/90 . the doc said she didnt feel comfortable renewing my card but she could set me up with a series of appointments to try and help me get it down. She gets paid by my employer on a per visit basis. stupid money scam.
Went to my own doc today and paid for another physical and passed. my blood pressure was 138/80 again today. Have been driving trucks for 15 damn years and the company doc said she didnt want to put anyones life in danger by renewing my dot card . I told her hell doc have you seen the way fools drive today with the cell phone appengage stuck to there damn head .Thats what scares me.
Ok what scares you about todays doctors and drivers?
I'm scared of doctors who run those cosmetic medicine clinics. They're happy to botox the crap out of you as long as you keep paying. No "bigger picture" consideration. As for drivers, I live in the bay area (ca) so I'm scared of all the stressed out souls who treat driving as aggression therapy.
I had heard NY drivers were the worst, but chicago might be interesting. I'm learning to hold my own, but some days I'm scared to bits by my fellow drivers.
New drivers are disproportionately involved in accidents, especially in the first months after passing a driving test. It has been proven that drivers who have taken hazard perception test training have much better hazard test skills....read entire post0 comments
