Yes you have heard is right..team india is soon going make its debut into the Formula 1 under the flagship of Indian Liquor & Aviation baron "Vijay Malaya". Malaya has joined hands with Michiel Mol, Director of Formula 1 at Spyker, to make the bid for Spyker Formula One Team.Contracts are expected to be signed imminently, meaning Mallya could attend next weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix as team owner.

Currently Spyker F1 is sponsored by Etihad Airways and is called Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team. It’s not clear if Mallya,plans to rebrand it as Kingfisher F1.But one thing thats for sure is that the team will be renamed and it will definately contain the word “India”.On the other hand, Mallya’s Kingfisher will continue to sponsor the Toyota Panasonic F1 team.
