Mamie, thank God, I mean really, thank God you figured it out on your own.  This is beyond my capabilities!  What did you do -- write it and then take a picture of it?

    LOL  You are priceless...

Oh.  You mean we're supposed to read it?   :D
  • Mamie said on Jan 07, 2008....
hehe, thanks Ed, I was feeling clever! Miss Mimi, *snickering....yea, I scanned it, then I did about a thousand things to it and it finally showed up here. I was all banged up and bruised afterwards and needed vodka with my lunch! Thanks for reading...now, about 'them drawers'?????
I just tossed a drawer called "I think I may know better than God"...it was stuck open! Now there is just a nice little opening for my ballet slippers...:)
  • kruuyai said on Jan 07, 2008....
Mamie,  that was really sweet.  I love handwritten letters!  At one time, I had over 30 penpals in god knows how many countries, and I used to write 10-page letters to them (if you've ever seen my blog, you will have no trouble believing that... lol).  At the moment, my drawers are completely empty, and I'm going to get some sleep.  Good night.  :)
  • Mamie said on Jan 07, 2008....
Kruu! (blushing...!) I am so sorry to peek when you are without drawers! :) sleep tight baby-cakes! Tomorrow's a brand new day!!

mamie: That was so nice! Thanks for taking the time...and to handwrite it at best!
Whats in my drawers (ha! now thats one of those words that have double meanings!)....Kindness really...'tis what I am looking for.....and anything else thats up there with kindness. All others I'm gentle closing (though I'd rather bang the damn drawers shut and throw away the keys!!!)
  • GracefullyGrowing said on Jan 07, 2008....
Lovely Mamie.  Now you got me thinking about what's in my drawers.

I don't think I want to look.  LOL

Mamie, that was totally gnarly! How on earth did you get that there? I know...stop asking that question already! Ha!

Ok...my drawers have ninjapirate, cnt, lampshade, trav, calling, and phoeby in them! Ha!!

I like this series. I'll be back (as Arnold The Governator of Cali-forn-ya says!)

Mams.....New day...new week....new year.....I emptied out my old drawers and am beginning to fill them again.....I have started with Hope.  That's a good start I think.....working on a little peace and joy as well.

(Am I correct in assuming the Christmas decorations are still up....lol)

    Mamie,
    That's very clever of you!

As far as my drawers go, I think a few of them are stuck.  I think a little satisfaction is spilling out of one though.

Mamie dearest - I loved it!  How clever of you - posting a handwritten note on SC.  That is just too darned cool!  Sweet too.

And I have to say, Mamie, you have very lovely handwriting!

  • gingersoul said on Jan 07, 2008....

Mamie.....you touched my heart....i have to write this before going to bed..

I love, simply love handwritten letters....they are so personal, intimate, delicate and so revealing of the person. I can read your soul thru your handwriting......I used to have penpals in many different countries and still, to thsi day, when i get a letter or a postcard it feels like Xmas in July...

You had a sweet and brilliand idea. Thank you so much!

    Its just at the same level of showing us a picture of you.....{{{hugs}}}

You made history today...lol...at least a Soulcast history....I dont have a scanner..otherwise i would immediately copy you...

  • ninjapirate said on Jan 08, 2008....
Cool post!  I think your handwriting is pretty!  Mine doesn't ever come out that nice.  lol to Lala!  It's not dark in your drawers!  hehe You definetly have a place in mine, Cnt too.  I'm not sure what the rest are filled with, but this was great though, keep it going!
  • lalalalalala said on Jan 08, 2008....

hey ninja sista! sures ur welcomes and thanks i'm glad i'm in your drawers! (aHHH! that sounds naughty!)

your drawers have some muscles of the male model variety in them...they just eat you up, call you all sorts of cutesy names ; - p

  • hotaka said on Jan 08, 2008....
you want to know what's in my drawers? I am a man. Use your imagination. Oh, someone already probably said something like that. It's not funny.

I like the hand written blog idea. That's original. Well, I have never seen it before.

Here's a thought: what about when people open your drawers for you and they try to open the sad or angry drawers? You try to open the happy drawer but they slam it shut. Then there is a drawer opening and closing battle until finally the whole shebang topples over and all you are left with is a messy soul. The you have to clean up and put everything back but some things are broken and, well... it's just a mess. Maybe some things need to go for laundry.
  • destinydiva said on Jan 08, 2008....
this is such a cool idea mamie!!  I think I need to learn to keep some of my drawers closed ;-) no...not the rude ones!! :-) xx
  • Mamie said on Jan 08, 2008....
hiya CNTLVME: oh, a kindness drwaer! Yes, I definitely want one of those! Maybe if we don't close that drawer all the way, it can just spill out casually all the time? I like it!

GraceGrow: Great truth in your answer...it is hard to look, ain't it? I am not proud of alla my drawers but I am willing to peek in and try to rewrite the stickers/labels with my Sharpie! want me to come take a look with you? *smile...today, my wish for you is to open CLARITY, PEACE, SERENITY....

Burning: no kidding your drawers are empty! You all but said they are on fire! What will you salvage and what will you rebuild?

Lalalala: hiya hon, what is gnarly? If it means that I look hot in a sequined tank top then yes I am! *wink, JK...thanks, I love to write, really write, with a cool pen...I even bought myself a mont blanc, burgundy...now you know I am old if I think a pen is cool! I too have a soulcast drawer and it is a happy space with much activity and laughing so loud that it keeps me up at night! :)))

Jenna-girl: no, xmas is boxed and gone! Its called caffeine, my dear! Um, I must say it is really good to hear from you all the time now...as to the drawers...well, sometimes we do need to open all, dump all and refill slowly. May I suggest, BIG drawers of Peace and Joy right along side Hope? I also be-gift (is that a word?) to you the drawer of abundance and love...

Fearing...thank you dearest! Be seeing you in my dreams *smilingggggggg, did he have red hair by chance?

CW: thanks, my friend, thank the nuns...its the Palmer method ya know!!
AND I am a lefty, accounting for all sorts of doodly do's and whatnot. Of course they get stuck all the time! While other times there are drawers that we'd prefer to be closed that fly open at the drop of a hat! I am so happy that you opened the satisfaction drawer!!

GingerBabe: of course you are one of my inspirations!! How about if we really become pen pals...I have some great pictures of a certain young lady who will be leaving for college this summer...and I would love to show them to you!! (shut up MIMI...you already have one with your name on it!! Gawd, she is so bossy!!

thanks Ninja: I do tend to keep that soulcast drawer half hanging open with people falling out the top to overflowing! Heck no, it's not dark in there!
Lala, pls refrain from that! eheheheheheeeeeee!!! it was intended, for sure!

Hotaka: I have considered that idea of someone else opening my darawers...truth is, I don't think they can without our PERMISSION. Case in point, my inlaws...they are very good at pushing the buttons that open the drawers that may be called IRRITATION, LACK OF PATIENCE, SARCASM AND MEANNESS....I used to open those drawers in the same second that my inlaws would walk in the room.
NOW, I refuse to open that...I cleaned out those drawers and refilled them with empathy, respect for my husband/ reaching beyond him to his parents...now I don't seek them out, but at least I don't throw up when I see them! :)))
You are right, some things end up broken and then we decide whether or not to fix them.
And some things you just send out to the cleaners, hoping they come back safe and sound.  Other times, you get that little yellow note on the hanger that says: we are sorry but this stain cannot be removed...

Destiny: you are too funny! do not open any Rude drawers, that is for haters who do not know what they are speaking about!! Sometimes, I guess we can open a drawer...let it speak for itself and then slam it the hell shut if we get pissed offf!! *smiling and remembering....haha, our little secret!

to all, for sharing your drawer stories.. thanks. I do think we choose to ignore the drawers that take up the most room in our "soulbird"..I wish for you, that you will make a choice, to exchange on e drawer that no longer works for you...with an active, happy one that does in 2008! Thanks for dropping in!

Shut up Mimi?  LOL  I just got here!

One of my biggest, messiest drawers?  Fear.  Fear of just about anything you can think of.  It's so full, sometimes it won't close.  The overflow is starting to take up residence in my Cynical drawer.  The fear's not a new thing, but the cynical is a newcomer to the neighborhood.

I have one tiny drawer at the bottom that gets ignored most of the time.  Self-care.  Most of the time I forget it's even there.

  • Mamie said on Jan 08, 2008....
ha! I knew you would catch the vibe if I threw some sarcasm at you, Mimi!! Yes I have had a full drawer of fear too. I want to dump it. I want to replace it with...confidence...cynical should be taped over with a caution rope and renamed immediately! I will not let you have that one.
As to the self care, tiny little buttons drawer, hows about an overhaul where we move that one up to a larger drawer and fill it with some treasures...of things that make you smile,, then things that make you chuckle, then.....things that make you laugh right out loud!! I myself have had to move that drawer a few times!
  • quietone said on Jan 08, 2008....
Mamie ~ what a sweet post and all the work that went into it as well!  {{hugs} ~  You know, I just went through my drawers a while ago.  I did some rearranging according to color code.  I have a lot of "pink" in there now.  Some hold just pink and one drawer holds mostly white.  I still have one on the bottom that has a mix bag that I will sort though some day soon, and toss out what doesn't "fit" anymore.  Maybe I will work on that my 2 weeks I won't be here... take care!
  • Mamie said on Jan 08, 2008....
Quietone: be good while you are offline, ya hear? thanks for helping me make a drawer of pink too! love it!! mamie
  • lalalalalala said on Jan 08, 2008....

Mamie! gnarly means you look hot in that top!!!! and yes it also is my way of saying "cool" or "awesome" or "way to go!" oh and please refrain from what?

  • queenparanoia said on Jan 09, 2008....
    i love this mamie!!! mine's a happy drawer!!! =)
  • hotaka said on Jan 09, 2008....
Ah, yes. I know what you mean. My mom, bless her for all her kindness and love, sometimes has a tone that gets me grabbing for the irritation drawer right away. Another very important person in my life sometimes has her depression drawer fall open for almost no reason. I am never sure which drawer to open of mine to help her close her drawer. Invariably I chose the wrong one no matter how many I open. I stand there like a pathetic chest of drawers with socks hanging out and clothes strewn about the floor and feeling as empty as I look.

Love the comment about the little yellow tag. Very insightful, witty and accurate.
  • Mamie said on Jan 09, 2008....
Hotaka: believe me, I have been there, with the drawers all hung open, the socks scarves, gloves all a mess...and pulling out anything I can think of to respond to someone or thing I don't understand (like your example of a depression drawer being opened) and I suppose, in lieu of all of our rambling activity, sometimes it is just best to stand there grandly, all drawers in order (or at least hiding the dis-
order) and loving just be "a chest of drawers". hehe

Queen: hooray!! Happy it is! Happy R Us!!

Lalala, I was teasing you, I know what gnarly is, I was just trying to be in a sequined tank top, looking young and fly! My other comment about "refraining" was me saying that the double meaning of the "drawers" was on purpose! THEN, once you used it as it was actually intended, I was all humble, saying "oh you! stop that!" You will get my weird sense of humor after awhile!
    sorry for the confusion!
  • lalalalalala said on Jan 09, 2008....
oooooooohh gotcha Mamie! thanks for esplaining to me!

  • moyz said on Jan 10, 2008....
oh Mamie...this is great stuff...cute writing to boot!!!

my drawers have peace, pain, joy, anticipation, stress, irritation, anger, love etc...I want to close the sad drawers...maybe even repack them and keep my cool drawers open...coz I'm hopeful...for today!!!!!!!!!
  • Mamie said on Jan 10, 2008....
hi Lala!! No prob, I am a loon sometimes.

Fearing: yes! I have a thing for red heads:) You know that guy on one of the CSI's...the actor with the red hair? I like him too!!

Hiya Moyzie! thanks! I am repacking some of those same drawers...might even let my drawer of "well being" hang open all day long! Have a good day!
  • hotaka said on Jan 10, 2008....
I used my recovery drawer today. That's where I don't open the drawers that will get me into trouble and instead use the drawer that ignores trouble and sets things back on course. It seems to have worked.
  • Mamie said on Jan 10, 2008....
Hotaka:love it! Yesterday, I was in a negotiation with a certain company and the same old marketing person was on my last nerve (as per usual). I soon realized that I was pacing the floor (hard!) and I stopped, took some deep breaths...closed the irritation and sarcastic-I know it all drawer...opened the compassion drawer...asked for clarification, found the person wanting to be "thought of as talented". I let him be...I actually called him talented..on the parts I liked...and then in the end, we hung up and we were both happy. The compromise was brilliant!
Isn't that just too funny how this works?
thanks for sharing and have a great day!
  • lalalalalala said on Jan 10, 2008....
Mamie! ain't we all loons sometimes? I know I am!
  • fearing said on Jan 10, 2008....
Mamiekins, there is something mysteriously hot about that guy on CSI.  I don't know which CSI it is either. ;-).  Redheads huh?
  • Mamie said on Jan 10, 2008....
hehe to lala....and yes, fearing...he is just mysteriously hot! I think it might be csi miami....but anyway, my man is a red headed- green eyed stud! Don't know where that came from but I took one look at him and said "oh yea, gonna go get me some of that redhead!". At least that is the way he tells everyone the story!
  • lalalalalala said on Jan 10, 2008....
    MuHaHahAhAaaaa to Mamie!
  • gingersoul said on Jan 10, 2008....

Fearing and Mamie...are you talking about Horatio......that fella in CSI Miami always with shades on and red flaming hair in the sun?....He is not hot but he is intriguing...i have to agree with you ...

What about closing you two and him in the Naughty Drawer?...;-p

Oh, wait, first Hottie and me have to get out of there.....LOL...

My drawers right now are all messy but well locked. I have no time to organize them or even look inside them.

  • moyz said on Jan 11, 2008....
am trying to close the drawer of helplessness....the drawer of irritation, the drawer of sickness and suffering and am opening up the drawer of helpfulness, patience, endurance and faith
  • Mamie said on Jan 11, 2008....

Hi Ginger! I am so glad you are able to sneak in here once in a while, I miss you! Yes Horatio or "H" as I just love to call him...what can I say? I have thing for the Irish! Luckily I have my own leprechaun right here at home...maybe I should just make a loop of the theme song and then jump in the drawers (blushing....) *smile.

Moyzie: that is definitely a good plan. If you can literally see that happening in your mind, really picture it, it will be so! Pls know that I am here if you need to talk something out...I will not do helplessness anymore, so maybe I can relate! Have a great day!!
