Of being sick and tired.

I have a cold. That sucks. My wife got it first, then I got it. Then of course our daughter got it too. So we're all just a bunch of sickies.

I'll try not to leave my germs on this post, but you might want to use a little hand sanitizer before you go.

I usually post some questions for everyone to liven the place up. And I'm usually inspired by something that I'd really like to learn about. But this time, all I can think of is being sick.

So that's what the questions are going to be about.

1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

*bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?

Inquiring minds want to know....

Stay well everyone.

Hi Mr Box, hope you all get better really soon. it sucks to be sick. Although i like it when my voice gets husky!! lmao!

    1. i don't get sick easily - i must have a good immune system
    2. no
    3. yes - but it goes further than just flippant thoughts, thinking positive things over and over a few times will activate positive feelings and that is when healing will occur... because feeling-thoughts will affect your dominant vibration in a positive way.
    4. yeah, i tend to carry on as normal. No i tend to not need pampering although i suppose if it happened it would make me feel nice. But i'm not used to being pampered so i don't expect it.
    5. yes!
    6. dunno.. try it and see!

    think healthy!!!!
  • Mr_Box said on Jan 04, 2008....

Thank you, Phoeby. I am trying to think healthy. I feel better today than I did yesterday. My head no longer feels like it's in a vise.

I've found that if you worry about getting sick, like I did when my wife came down with her cold, I inevitably become sick too.

Like I'm jinxing myself and my fear makes it come to fruition. I need to stop doing that, don't I?

Live and learn. Think positive and maybe next time I won't get sick.

I'm afraid to try number 6. What if my eyes fall out? I still need them. Maybe on my death bed, I'll give it a go.

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?
I usually don't get sick that easily. But if I'm stressed out already, I do tend to catch more bugs.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?
    No

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?
Yes. Sort of. Maybe not healed of everything, but I do think that some illnesses can be prevented or healed if you think positive enough about it. Sometimes it's mind of over matter. Like if I feel like I'm going to hurl. I can almost always stop that from happening.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?
I am a big baby. I like for someone to take care of me if they can. But I return the favor! I like taking care of others too.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?
It makes me feel better. I think it's magical...

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?
I'm not gonna try it, but I'm thinking no....I say it's an urban legend. Maybe Myth Busters did a show on it?

I love your questions mr box!!!  :-)  sorry your  not feeling well ...hope your all feeling better soon....

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?  I have a shitty crappy poopy immune system!!!!!  :-)

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?  yes about 8 times...Im only  30!!  how crappy shitty poopy immuny systemy is my immune system!! :-)

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?  I think a lot of illnessnesses are the result of issues with your innerself... If your having a rough time in your life.. your body can start to pay for it....so in those instances yes I do think you can heal yourself 100%   but then there are illnesses that we get that do need medical intevention...illness that have nothing to do with our state of mind...we cant heal them by ourselves, but we can most definitly heal our emotional state about the illness....and that can have a massive effect on the outcome of the illness

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? I pretend I'm not and insist on getting on with everything....  though when I am too sick to carry on...and I have to own up because I need the kids looking after or something...I do actually enjoy the pamering :-)

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?  of course!!!!  :-)

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?   next time I sneeze, I'll give it a shot.... :-) if you sneeze before me...let me know okay??  lol :-)

    des :-) xx

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

I don't get sick easily at all. At least not really sick. I usually get one or two colds a year. But I recover fast most of the time.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

Yes, once. I had a horrible ear infection and my eardrum ruptured. I needed surgery. I was just a kid though so I don't remember much.

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

Yes, I think a positive outlook can have a great effect on easing illnesses. I just need to do it more.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

I pretend I'm fine. I never stop unless someone forces me to.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

I think it's the same thing as positive thinking. You THINK it helps you, therefore it does.

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?

I am not going to tempt fate and find out...

Kyle.....you are a big baby when you're sick, aren't you? It's kind of funny. But at least you're marrying a nurse. Perfect match.

Miss Diva.....I'm sorry to hear you've been hospitalized so many times. But at least you have a positive outlook so you'll be able to beat anything that comes your way.

Let me know about that eyeball thing....

  • the_infernal_optimist said on Jan 04, 2008....
    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

I have a kickass immune system, and my daughter seems to have inherited that. Seriously - I'm almost totally immune (it seems) to stomach bugs/flu and most colds, even if everyone around me is sick. I do get really bad respiratory (think grownup croup) stuff if we have a strong winter sometimes - I had croup as a kid almost every year, but it seems to be more chronic than "caught" in my case. No idea if that's true or not.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

No, though my dad wanted to take me to the ER one night when I was small and had the aforementioned croup so badly I couldn't breathe. He's not one to panic, but I scared him - he freaked, scooped me up, and ran downstairs and outside with me so I could get air better. I was fine a few minutes later, but I think it shook him up.

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

I think negative people tend to get sick more often, and that when we're stressed, it compromises our immune systems quite a bit. And if two people have an identical illness and treatment, the person with the positive attitude will most likely recover faster than the one with the pessimistic outlook.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

Well, with two small children I'd have to just bulldoze through the ickies and do my normal stuff, but I was like that before anyway. When I do get sick, I get really cranky but I want everyone to leave me the hell alone and let me do what I have to do, not get up in my face and baby me.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

Why not? :) It's the thought behind it as much as the food itself, I think (that someone wants you to feel better/cares enough to have brought it to you, even if it's from a can), and if it is homemade - well, everyone knows that food made with love is some powerful stuff. ;-)

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?

I hope not - that sounds like one of those things my son will try one day. :-p

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?  I'm normally pretty healthy, but I had a cold about 10 days before Christmas and just this evening, I started getting a scratchy throat, a headache, body aches, and chills.  I wasn't expecting that!

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?  Nope.  I had tubes put in my ears when I was five, but that was a scheduled outpatient procedure.

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?  Not really, but I'm kinda cynical that way.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?  In a perfect world, I'd wuss around and be coddled, but my children are usually unsympathetic to my plight.  Fortunately, I rarely get sick enough to be completely out of commission.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?  The You: The Owners Manual docs say good things about chicken soup and zinc lozenges.

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?  I think we should ask the guys at Mythbusters to test this one.

    1)   I have always had somewhat a fragile construction.

    2)   Yes

    3)   I think a person can, but I have never personally seen it.

    4)  I don' require coddling, but when I'm sick, I go to bed and rest.

    5)  yes, it does.

    6) hahahahahaha!
  • nursecutie said on Jan 04, 2008....
    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?
I have an awesome immune system! I hardly ever get sick. Which is amazing b/c I worked w/sick people all the time.....I think that made me immune to lots of stuff.
    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?
No....I had my tonsils out, but I wasn't sick when that happened.
    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?
Ummm......I think they can get better faster. Maybe not 'heal'.....but I think a positive attitude will boost your immune system and make you feel better faster!
    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?
I usually just do everything normal. But I am not opposed to being pampered! I like that but I never had anyone to do that for me so I had no choice but to carry on!
    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?
    Yes! I think it does......
    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?
LOL! Umm.....no. Your eyelids aren't really that strong that they prevent flying eyeballs! I'm pretty sure the eyes will not shoot across the room if you try that.......LOL!

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system? I don't get the usual illnesses...colds, stomach viruses, flu, and such.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?  Yes

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking? No, but I think depression contributes to a lowered immune system

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?  I hate being coddled.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?
Works for me, especially with crackers.

I have a very good immune system...hardly ever get sick....

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

as I was saying in #1...I hardly ever get sick, but when I do, I end up in the hospital....bacterial meningitis...almost died :-(

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?    I think some people can....if your Mr. Rogers or something....Hard to believe that someone can be THAT positive though....

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?
Umm....well, I am a mother of 2 young girls, so I really don't have time to be sick, so I pretty much pretend I'm not sick until it knocks me on my ass and I can't ignore it anymore.....Would love to be coddled and pampered though...not gonna happen though...

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?  Hell no

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system? i dont get sick easy i guess..but i always get sick exactly once every summer.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness? nope thank god, they stick needles in you for no reason

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking? possibly, it has to do with stress kind of though, becuase if youre worrying (hence no positive thoughts) then ur stressing urself out in a bad way, which can weaken your immune system..theres a whole theory on that and stuff..but for things like puking like kyle said, i think if you can control your mind enough you can stop those kinds of things happening

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle? both, i like being waited on, but i hate having people in my face..and if im really sick, i hate having to do chores and pretend im "hardly sick"

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better? it makes your throat feel better fer sure cuz its warm and stuff...i dont love chicken soup though so i dont drink it much...

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out? ..isnt it physically impossible to do that? if its not, i dont think theyd actually fly out ( i hope) i think mayeb theyd hurt though...

Yes.  Just recently as a matter of fact.

I think it helps but true healing?  I highly doubt it.

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

Just reading this is probably gonna get me sick. I have a horrible immune system.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

No. They just gave me allergy medicine and told me there was nothing they could do for me...

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

    Maybe...never worked for me though...

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

I don't pretend that I'm fine, but I've learned to just do what needs to be done, even sick...I didn't get coddled when I was a child...so I have no reference for that kind of behavior...it wasn't anything serious, just...I got sick so often, I HAD to learn to just keep going, otherwise...I'd still be in grade school...

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

Not alone...add some tea (hopefully something delicious like Lipton...probably garlic, salt and cloves...*shudder*), and then maybe...

Nothing like questions about oneself to get the mind relaxed and working. Or maybe most of us just like talking (writing) about ourselves. I do.

    1) I get sick about twice a year, whern a cold is going around. First everyone around me gets it and I feel all smug for staying healthy. Then finally I get it.

    2) No. (knock wood)

    3) I keep trying but my illness patterns are always the same.

    4) It is nice to be coddled because I love the concern, but generally I prefer to try to heal myself and stay out of action for as short a time as possible.

    5) I've rarely had chicken soup when I am sick, though it does taste good.

    6) I tried to keep my eyes open once when sneezing. I couldn't do it. Once I sneezed just after the traffic light turned green and I took my foot off the break. Because my eyes were closed I didn't see the car in front of me stalled. I looked up too late and even though I hit the brakes I still smashed the tail lights of the car in front. I was in a van, much higher than the sedan in front. Now I always check traffic around me carefully before sneezing while driving.

Really, the only good news about this is that you will all three get over the cold together and be done with it. I hope so anyway.

Hello Mr. Box... don't really know you here but seen you if you know what I mean.

Your post really sparked my ears... for a few reasons.. I'm a trained natural therapist I have also been married to a man who HAD non hodkins lymphoma, I have also had menengitus, glandular fever and golden staph all at once...

I don't think its any one thing in the healing business, we are in control more than you think take a look at someone who goes to the doc at the first sign of illness resigning themselves to a particular modality and they take a lot longer to heal because they don't OWN their dis - ease... others who seek out other remedies (not just alternative) tend to heal quicker because they OWN their dis ease therefore control their thoughts, emotions and activities on a higher level.

Hypnosis, diet, emotional therapy and positive thinking along with the best of medical care healed my husband (along with a nurturing partner) as for me, diet, positive thinking and activity healed me, when I feel the onset of anything I look into my lifestyle first, my diet and then my thoughts, usually its my thoughts that dictate along with lifestyle.. emotional problems next with me then finally psychological ones... the dynamic changes for everyone thats why there are so many modalities around to help us heal ourselves.

As for the other questions.... Mr Box I am laughing too hard to answer most of them.... eye balls can pop out in a coughing fit but I have never heard of that much pressure in someones sinuses (tee hee good party trick)

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

I've had a bit of problems with my nose over the years since I broke it at the age of 10.  I did have an op back then but it healed skew and I developed a continuous post natal drip, which meant that I got sick with colds a LOT!  Feb 2 years ago I had a nose operation and since then it is much better, but because Tigger goes to nursery and gets colds there he brings it home where inevitably it ends up making me sick too.  Hopefully as his system becomes stronger I wont get sick as much.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

No, I've only ever been to hospital for operations.

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

I have heard stories of people healing themselves, however, I think its more than just sitting in bed thinking positive thoughts like "I am getting better" or "I command my body to get better".  Most people who have overcome the odds have usual DONE something about their illness, be it certain exercise or eating certain foods etc.  Positive thinking in itself I dont think can do the trick without actual actions.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

As Mimikins said, Moms dont get sick days (you should know that Mr Box!)  I immediately know when I am starting to get sick and try to take medicine immediately before it gets worse and most time I can kill it within a day or two.  Moms look after the men and children, but who looks after mom?

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

I read an article once on actual scientific experiments that were done with regards to the healing effects of chicken soup and it was found that it does indeed have healing qualities.  So, yes the scientists and I agree!

    *bonus throwaway ridiculous question*

    6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?

I dont think it is possible to sneeze with your eyes open; so it must be a preventative measure to keep your eyes in their sockets when sneezing LOL!

    my immune system sucks.
i have a blood disorder that screws with it.
i had 6 different infections in a 5 month period about a year ago.
i was hospitalized for one of them, a kidney infection.

    the others were
ear infections, nasal cavity infections, sinus infections, bronchitis, pneumonia.
and then after my body was weakened from all those...the kidney infection hit full force.
i collapsed on the kitchen floor. .......and spent 8 days in the hospital.

Thanks to everyone who replied. If anyone is interested the answer to number 6 can be found here: Will your eyes pop out if you sneeze?

Ms. Infernal.....thank you for the get well wishes. I feel fairly decent today. And I agree with you that negative people are more likely to get sick. And food made with love is an amazing cure.

Eilan.....I hope you feel better soon as well. Stock up on chicken soup and zinc lozenges.

crybaby......resting is important if you want to get better. I hope you stay well.

Miss Cutie.....you're lucky that you have a good immune system. But if you do get sick, I know you'll be pampered this time.

Ms. twyla.....I believe depression causes all sorts of illnesses and aches and pains. The mind is a powerful thing.

Minnie.....bacterial meningitis huh? You are lucky to still be here. That's a really nasty one. You must have a great immune system to have fought that one off.

hinana.....I agree that certain illnesses can be controlled with your thoughts. And negativity does lower your defenses.

gingery......thank you for the get well wishes and the kiss. I feel better already. You must have magical healing forehead kisses.

Miss Mimi......I'm glad you've recovered from your illness now and are back from the hospital. Stay well. Eat lots of soup.

TBS.....tea with garlic in it? Is that what you suggested? That sounds gross. But regular tea with honey and lemon does help a sore throat. Thank you for the get well wishes.

hotaka.....people do love talking about themselves. That's why I post questions. No one can resist them. And I like reading the answers. It is good that we're all sick together and now we'll get over it and be healthy again.

Lucy......you're a natural therapist? What an interesting job. I do believe what you said though. Very interesting information. I'm happy to hear that your husband has recovered and that he has such a loving wife to have helped him through it.

Ms. Polar....in my house, Mom's do get sick days. That's what I'm here for. Although my wife prefers to run herself ragged and not admit she needs help. But I force her to take it easy. I can be Mr. Mom. I enjoy that.

Ms. Fallyn.....I took care of your multiple responses. Stupid submit key must have gotten stuck. I hope that you stay well this season.

quietone......I agree that positive thinking is key for just about everything in life.

Ms. Paranoia.....I'm sorry to hear that you're sick as well. Get your grandma to pamper you.

Sandman....you and my brother both admitted that you're big babies when you're sick. I hope you have someone to take care of you if the need arises.

Mr Box, good for you!!  Your Mrs is a very fortunate lady :-)
  • momsrock said on Jan 05, 2008....
    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?
I always used to jokingly call my immune system the iron curtain...but it's kind of an overachiever and gets a little out of control attacking things it shouldn't...lol autoimmune issues run in our family...it's usually only when its distracted attacking things it shouldn't that I actually get colds or anything...
    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?
No...thank goodness...but over the last year I've more and more appts, tests and ER visits for the autoimmune issues...kind of getting out of hand...
    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?
I think it helps....definitely makes it easier to deal with anyway...
    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?
I don't like being pampered, i don't like attention...i try to blow it off and pretend i'm normal but i like people understanding how I feel and being thoughtful enough to take it upon themselves to help do the little things.
    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?
It never makes me feel any better, because I don't like it...:)

I hope you feel better soon!!!

I have an awesome immune system which I have fought hard to recapture! I have been hospitalized more than I like. I believe positive thinking allows you to accept all the good healing vibes in the universe. I believe wellness is our real true state of being.
Yes I always ignore symptoms until they smack me up side the head and then I quiet down and sleep.
I agree that chicken soup makes you better and I believe that an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
feel better, Buddy, the sinus-queasy thing has been going around!

Mr. Box I hope that you feel better soon. We should have gotten a flu shot. I guess everyone likes to talk about their immune system. Mine is ok. The last time I just fell asleep for two days. That felt good, just sleep through the whole thing, just get up to eat my taco, then go back to sleep. Chicken soup is comfort food, and it is easy on your stomach and taste buds, so it does make you feel better. If you are shivering, what my mom does is grab a bath towel and dip it in hot water, as hot as you can bear, and wrap it around my feet for five minutes. Then I wear thick socks, vapor rub on chest and back, and go to sleep again. Feels soooo good. The honey and lemon thing is good too, but now we have theaflu.

Ms. Polar.....thank you very much. I'm pretty fortunate too.

momsrock.....I'm sorry you've had trouble with autoimmune disorders. Those can be really tough to deal with. You don't like chicken soup? Is there something else that makes you feel better instead?

mamie.....I really like what you said. I believe the same things. Thank you for the get well wishes.

eatmytaco.....that name is the best. I did get a flu shot actually. But this is a cold. No shot for that one unfortunately. But I'm feeling much better today.

    1) Are you the type of person who gets sick easily or do you have an awesome immune system?

I have a pretty strong immune system and don't get sick too often.

    2) Have you ever been hospitalized for an illness?

No, I've never been hospitalized for an illness.

    3) Do you think people can really heal themselves with the power of positive thinking?

Yes, I do think that positive thinking helps when it comes to both not getting sick and healing as well.

    4) When you're sick, do you pretend you're not and insist on doing everything normally? Or do you love being coddled and pampered at the first sign of a sniffle?

I probably fall somewhere in between.  I don't pretend I'm not sick, but I still do as much as I can if it needs to be done. If it's not a pressing matter that needs to be done immediately I put it off until I am feeling better.

I do, however, like being pampered a bit when I am feeling under the weather. It's always nice to be pampered a bit.

    5) Do you think chicken soup really makes a person feel better?

No, I don't really think chicken soup, per se, makes a person feel better.  I think warm comforting foods, like chicken soup--if you happen to like it--can help you feel better.

*bonus throwaway ridiculous question* 6) If you sneeze while holding your eyes open, will your eyeballs really fly out?

Ummm...no, your eyeballs won't really fly out if you sneeze with your eyes open.

Like Infernal, I didn't want this to get buried with my answers:

    Feel better soon, Mr._Box.
  • Mr_Box said on Jan 05, 2008....

Zayda.....thank you very much. I feel better today than I did yesterday.

I tend to keep going when I'm sick until someone tells me to stop. Then I don't mind a little pampering. But it's not a requirement. And I can't stay down for long.

  • Zayda said on Jan 05, 2008....
Glad to hear you are feeling better.

It's hard to both not get things done or stay down long when you are sick if you have work, a spouse, and a child/children to manage, I have found. It's bad though, at our house, when Mr. Z and I are both sick and dragging. but the little man is fine and full of energy. LOL.
  • Mr_Box said on Jan 05, 2008....

Zayda.....that's the worst time. When me and my wife are sick, and our daughter is still up to full speed.

All you want to do is lay down for awhile and you can't. Ah, being a parent is challenging isn't it?

  • gingersoul said on Jan 05, 2008....

    Boxycoldy......yes, i do have magical forehead kisses....lol...

I agree with you...nothing is worst that sick parents and perfectly fine kids.....a recipe for disaster....plus, they worry about us...at least my daughter worries a lot about me if i happen to be sick.....specially since she doesnt see me sick very often...

I am glad you are feeling better.....did you use Vicks as i told you?.....lol...

  • tbs230 said on Jan 05, 2008....
Mr. Box: gross is an understatement...you put garlic skin, salt and cloves in boiling hot water, and you call it tea...that's what I was raised with. I rather die in school mid-day than drink that crap! But honestly, it's not too bad, and it helps, especially with nausea...

I threw up alot as a kid...
  • Fallyn said on Jan 05, 2008....
    thank you mr. box.

  • momsrock said on Jan 06, 2008....
Box...I've noticed that little debbie cupcakes always make me feel better...must have some mysterious curing ingredient mixed in with the fake icing! :)  It's not very strong though, you have to eat the whole box before it kicks in...lol
  • gingersoul said on Jan 06, 2008....

Moms........lol...i swear on the magical power of chocolate.....

If i really have to reveal my secret weapon....I spread chocolate all over my body....and i lick my fingers after it.......it must be 100% cocoa though...it works like a charms anytime....

No wonder my lovers always offer to keep me company in bed when i am sick.....*wink*

  • momsrock said on Jan 06, 2008....
lmao... you are such a better person than I am...I've tried that before but I'm so selfish I eat it all myself! It's a little difficult getting my toes to my mouth but if you like chocolate enough...you find a way!! Maybe that's what I've been doing wrong all these years...I need to learn how to share and try it your way!!! lol
  • gingersoul said on Jan 06, 2008....

Moms.....being generous with men is my weakness...what can is say?....LOL....

Oh, and about putting your toes in your mouth...its a piece of cake especially if somebody is gently pulling your leg....*wink*.
