The very first thing i did on the very first second of the new year has been text messaging my daughter. She asked me to send her a message at the struck of midnight....she didnt text me back though.....uhmm.....does it mean we are going to have communication issues during the 2008?.....Hope not....:-)
Anyway, dont feel bad....I have been spending today like you.....in my pj , beside putting on some jeans for walking the dog, watching movies, checking emails and simply being guiltlessly lazy.......

My poor wife was sick with a head cold so I'm afraid we didn't do much last night.
The first thing I did at midnight was to give my daughter a hug and a kiss.
She stayed up with me watching movies, while my wife went to bed early.
It wasn't quite the fun evening I hoped for, but Harper was excited to stay up that late.

When the count down reached zero, K and I clinked glasses of water, drank a sip and kissed. I hugged her and told her how much I loved her and was looking forward to this year. I hope that was a good sign because later in the day (after sleeping, waking up and having breakfast) she became down about things and memories of last year came up and we canceled our plans to meet some old friends at the last minute and she went home to her family. So my evening was pretty empty and lonely. Heck, I went to the office and spent almost five hours just playing on the Net.
She's still home today for family reasons but we talked last night and we're okay now. This year still promises to be my best ever.
Btw, what year are you in, ginger? Or did you just give away some time traveler secret?

I am not worried at all for you....your year is going to be so full of emotions......you have no idea how becoming a parent will make you feel......K was just under the pressure of some inner storm.....i understand her completely....you need only to be a little patient with her ...but i know you will.....:-)
