I see this sentence every time I log on...what pray tell....have I set my self up for?
Do you know the sentence I mean?
We are logging on and we pause to allow the computer to continue...but at some point in time, a moment I have long forgotten, I made some choices about what I wanted and how I wanted things to be on my laptop. Freeze that frame and zoom OUT.
Bigger picture: what ARE my personal settings?
Since we are celebrating a brand new year...I have determined that I am ready to make some changes, additions, deletions...choosing again with new eyes, an open heart and a spirit of sharing.
Here we go...debuting here today, on this first day of January in 2008, in the world according to Mamie: The Soul Series. Inpired by Grace's weekly Sunday Seven, I will add my weekly column of good for our Soul(casters), maybe on Mondays, who knows? But weekly for sure...I will share insights from web sites that inspire me, books that move me and conversations that have me thrilled by new ideas and new ways of being.
So, first things first. Establishing my personal settings:
1. Gratitude is my attitude. I am not sure who said this but it is true for all...."the power of discovery in the journey is not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes..." God, thank you for giving me these eyes.
2. Abundance: I choose abundance in my life: in health, relationships, peace and joy. In all matters of the heart, I choose this. And so it is!
3. Balance: add equal parts of love, peace, worship, friendship, giving and receiving. I am cooking up a brand new year and I will need all of these!
4. Generosity: If I can remember that I should seek first to understand and then to be understood, I think I'll be able to stay in the light that generous souls share: growing their talents by giving them out to others, freely, no strings attached. (oh Gawd, I tend to love the strings attached part:)
And finally, a randomness about it, but it feels appropriate too...always always, a point to ponder. So here is our first....
5. Point To Ponder: the souls who touch usdeeply enough in that we feel hurt and wounded inour hearts...perhaps they have loved us MORE than we have ever been loved. Because
THEY helped us co-create a situation and time where we were brought to the brink of something really BIG. Really TRUE. Really AUTHENTIC.
Has someone loved you that much? What did you do about it? what are your personal settings?
Happy New Year!! And thanks for reading the first in the
Soul Series!!
love, love,
Mamie
