I told my friends I wasn't going to their new years party because I didn't feel well. I felt fine. Now I feel like junk. Fuck you, karma or whatever you want to call it.

Ah yes, I have. One time when I was a kid I told my mom I was really sick so I could stay home from school. I felt fine though. I was totally faking. But about 2 hours into my day of hooky, I came down with the worst stomach flu I've ever had. I was so sick I thought I was dying. So lesson learned. No more faking sick because it'll bite you in the ass later on.

This ended up being one of the worst new years for me. I went to bed early and slept through it. I was sick, lonely, and tired. I feel better now but last night was rough. -

This is very interesting topic.There are many cases in medicine that show the connection between our thoughts and faith.Somehow the illness appears first in informational level,and in time it transforms into a real one.Our teacher in Psychology used to talk a lot about these things.She told us about people who recovered from incurаble diseases with the strength of their will.They had inculcate themselves that they are healthy.So why can't the opposite be possible,too.

anon: I'm generally not a believer of these things, but since it has happened to me twice, I do believe. I do think that we can will ourselves to become sick or to become healthy. I think the mind is much more powerful than anyone knows. -
