one of my friends, on his blog set this topic... whether time really heals or is it alll hogwash? And i was really surprised to see the amount of negativity regarding it. I mean there was hardly anyone on that blog who believed that times healed. They were all very negative about they believe that time doesnt heal at all, it simply provides distractions! True to some extent. But personally i really think that nothing compares to the healing power that time has. We just dont realize how much time helps us. Its true that the past is not forgotten easily, but time definitely helps us forget to whatever extent is possible. People believe that memories dont fade away, they come back to haunt you. But since when did memories become a bad thing?? Agreed that there are some memories you'd rather have shu in a box that would never open again. But the thing is, our every memory is connected, one thought is preceded by another. It could be a happy one or a not so happy one. But its there, and when you think of one thing... it reminds you of several others. I do not want my memories to fade away, and i do not want my memories to be shut in a box that wud never open, only for the reason that i couldnt risk shutting up my good memories just so i dont have the strength to bear some bad memories. I know that i wouldnt give up the good memories i have for anything! and if that means i might have to remember some sad ones, so be it! What time is something we alll should be grateful for. It gives us the opporunity to create new memories, meet new people, accomplish new goals, which if we are lucky, will replace the bad memories. I would call that healing! What else do we need? The healing that time does to inernal wounds is similar to what it does to the external ones. The wound heals over time, but sometimes the scar stays. It does not hurt like how it used to, cos its you know, healed. But sometiems when you look at it it reminds of how you ended up getting hurt in the first place. And there are also times, when the wound is healed and the scar is lightening every day that passes till it finally disappears, and this time the wound has healed and scar also has disappeared. Either way, time has helped. So i think time really HEALS!

There are things I know I've forgotten and should remember. Then there are things I wish I could forget, especially in the middle of the night. The worse you were hurt, the longer it takes to heal. And sometimes you run out of time. Someone you've fought with dies or moves away - and that's the slowest pain to heal, so you wind up carrying it with you, scabbed over but still festering underneath.
