Looks like Wanderlei Silva is just a little more over the hill than Chuck Liddell is. They are both really good though. I wonder if Rampage Jackson could finally survive against Wanderlei, after getting his ass kicked twice by the Axe Murderer. I think what we have now is 95% of Chuck Liddell up against 90% of Wanderlei Silva. I wonder if 90% of Wanderlei Silva is enough to beat the shit out of Rampage Jackson again, if he just has his number.
Looks like GSP can pretty much beat Matt Hughes at will. Does that mean he's better? Donno. I guess. I still want to see Matt Serra vs. Matt Hughes. That would be a fun fight. Does GSP beat up Serra in the rematch? GSP seems pretty good at rematches. He needs more eye of the tiger if he wants to beat Serra. I think the problem may be that GSP and Serra really genuinely like each other a lot, and Serra was able to completely tune that out and beat the snot out of GSP, while GSP may be a more sensitive guy and didn't walk into the ring with the necessary ferocity.
Melvin Guillard continues to disappoint. He starts hot, then he gets frustrated, then his opponent, in this case Rich Clementi, slaps on a submission hold, and Guillard is done. How many times do you have to end up walking away from a fight saying oh shit, I got caught again. Maybe Guillard should take his jiu jitsu training a lot more seriously and realize that he sucks.
Meanwhile, the up and comer Sokoudjou gets submitted by nobody in particular. Huh? Wasn't he our rising superstar? Guess not.
Manny Gamburyan gets to tee off on nobody in particular. Nice to see Manny back. They should give him some tough competition and see how he does.
And Dean Lister, groundfighter, was given the opportunity to dominate nobody in particular. Lister can make a 15 minute fight seem like an hour or two because it is boring to see him maintaining his position and out-jiu-jitsu guys. Yes I realize he's the great Dean Lister, but I don't care, let him fight somebody in the top ten instead.
