That's an interesting question. um right now nothing momentous is standing out except a slow wonderful, getting to a good emotional place towards the end of the year. Is that what you sort of meant? probably not, but that's what stands out for me. Lovely friends online and offline and a great feeling of being in a good place finally.news story is a difficult one because i really don't like watching the news. I wouldn't be able to tell you what is happening in the world because i rarely know bawahahaaaahaa! I like good news stories and they rarely have them on the 6pm news.phoeby -

D6fer: Well i felt rather trapped and stuck for most of the year and wasn't in a very good place. I felt very negative and was in a really negative relationship with someone. And towards the end of the year i've been seeing things differently and have managed to let go of this negative relationship! And that in itself has been the hugest, mamothest (that's not a word is it?!) weight off my shoulders. Now i feel lighter and happier and I can finally see the good things around me. I appreciate things more and i appreciate people more. I'm taking notice of the good things in my life.So in that way, 2007 has been brilliant.what does D6fer mean?phoeby -

Lots of great things have happened to me in 2007 (and some shit things as well), but most of the good stuff has come along since I've been in Prague, so I'd say that the best thing that happened to me in 2007 was moving to Prague. -

I am alive and well and that is good...also joined SC this year and have met a lot of wonderful people. Went on a cruise to the Bahamas and that was good! So, guess '07 has been a good year. -

oh seven....was a huge year of transformation for me. I had many peaks and valleys, I made many new friends and lost some old ones. I ended one career but started another without knowing it was coming.I grew into my authentic self and I have finally arrived. yay! I am relieved and I am happy. This is HUGE. -

biggest news story? this isn't any single news story but rather a whole bunch of 'em converging largely on one, very simple fact: the president of the US repeatedly broke the law he swore to defend, and was aided & abetted in this by congressscum on both sides of the aisle. that his own party aided & abetted isn't terribly surprising. that democrats did the same puts me into a violent rage.

Hey D6! I think he best thing that happened to me in '07 was having the opportunity to finally finish my degree. It's been hanging over my head for seven years and nagging at me....I feel so much better now that I am doing something about it! -

And I am not going to hijack your post with that...hehe ... Oh My Family Tree has been soo amazing that I feel a connection to many people & countries I see here in some way or another. I got rid of a mooching, cheating and lying boyfriend, started my own (very successful so far) business, traveled to fun and exciting places and have never been happier in my life!2007 started out crappy, but by April has been the best year I have ever known! It is definately one for the books! -

D6......2007 started as the lowest of the lowest after my little sister passed away......depression seemed having the best of me...i definetely lost the purpose and the will to fight.....
then... very slowly.... something started to shift...like a subtle undecurrent wave...i met great people here who helped me tremendously.....i met a person who i consider now one of my best friends.....last summer i went back to Italy to see my family and friends again.....i got a new job 2 months ago and my daughter and i spent together the sweetest Xmas despite everything....
But also....two of my best friends got cancer .....one fried is in remission.....but the other one is only now starting her fight......
Overall.....i am more than ready to finish this year....
Good to read you had a great Xmas....:-)

It was a most amazing Horseradish cheese, which was so soft a delicious and melted in you mouth at the perfect time! It came from a shop down the street from the bookstore that sells beer, ANOTHER EXCELLENT discovery!!!! -

2007 has sucked ass, as things go. Yes, there have been worse years but most of them have at least been offset by good things.
2007 will be remembered mostly for it's lack of things for which to be remembered.

And what ed said. I'm a Republican (still) who didn't vote for one Republican in the last election cycle (2006). I'm still highly disappointed. For a change, I'm starting to feel disenfranchised, given current events.
We need to end the stranglehold that the two main parties in the US have on national politics.
