the holiday is over and what is left is nothing but left overs in the frig. but thats ok had a great day with the kids here. being sick on xmas day last year really sucked. i was not going to be sick this yr. had a great visit and great time with the boys here. they are fun to hang out with now that they are grown young men. sometimes they even get my humour. i made this huge dinner with tons of food and everyone ate too much . i made soup  today i didnt want a heavy meal. the cats found the noise and confusion hard as they didnt get their regular afternoon naps..........am sure they where fine .

 

my grandson loved his new clothes and toys that i got for him. i have started work on a weighted vest for him. it was a request from my son as my grandson is autistic and it helps to calm him down. will take some time to make all the pockets. will make a couple per day. may have it done in a month or so.  hope it will help like he wants it too.

 

i called my sister. there is still some work to be done to clear up the estate now that they are doing something about it. but the first of the cheques are finally being written. my boys share will be held in trust until they are 30 and hopfully have their life together enough they wont spend it foolishly.  i will invest mine and hope its enough to retire on some day. we shall see on that..........have a feeling i will be needing to add alot more money to the fund. ........lots and lots more.....i wont have a pension from any job i have.

 

will have to wait until the new yr to find out if i will still have a job or not. seems all the managment is off on xmas leave.........something all of us should be on.  i dont think we need to be open 24 hours a day. nothing is that important at 3 am thats for sure.  would love to say to most of the people that call in that your not always right and pay your dam bill. my tounge hurts i bite it so much..........

    Kate, I would like to hear more about this weighted vest for your grandson that you mentioned. I dont know if my mental picture is the same as what you are speaking of. 
    My first born had a lot of problems, he was post mature and has a lot of problems as a result of....severe range add/adh that has carried over to adult age.
    Im glad you had a good holidays, your family visit and that you are finally getting you issues from last year finally worked on.....itll all work out, just takes time.

    am not sure what you would like to know about the vest lorac. its a series of pockets filled with small smooth rocks. gives it the weight and still with go through the washer. the pockets will then be sewn together. it will be quite heavy . but that is what he wants. sand wont work as i am afraid of the sand leaking into the washer or in general leaking around the house. the small rocks wont go through the pockets. it will look like a regular vest when done with tie ups.

    Exactly what I was thinking of...I did something like that for my boy, many years ago, my mom worked at a place that made down comforters and she made a down vest and we incorporated a lot of pockets and put pebbles in them...for the tactile issues, and self-stim thing and because my boy said he wouldnt fly away if he wore it......strange how its taken me all these years to have a memory surface again out of the blue!!!I think he was maybe bout 5 or 6 when we did that. I wonder what ever happened to it? we were able to use industrial size snaps with ours...as the boy would tear off anything that dangled..i.e. straps, strings....couldnt abide   ties or bows and was a picker of objects offensive to him! still is come to think of it!  anyway...this year will be better, I can feel it. well, it has to be, am to stressed out for anymore surprises. have a good one gf
