So i was at my friends' house today, playing poker (wine included). I ended up with positive winnings (barely). So i got to thinking. How about 'the guy' who keeps losing? It must surely suck to have many of your friends get all your money, and you can't join 'em on everything, because you simply can't afford it. One of use is that guy, and some of us are pretty upset with him, because he's got some problems with debt. And also his priorities, but anyway. You feel bad taking his money, but you only do so in his attempt to take yours. Know what i mean? Might i add, alcohol IS of some influence. Both when it comes to decision making, and playing in general. Any comments on this? Is poker really evil? Or should there be taken measures to make sure nobody gets lost in debt? Or should we simply stop playing? The answer would be easy, if it weren't for the great fun involved. And it's really social. And it's something to do, you know? It's easier call someone and ask "poker tonight?", rather than calling them saying "uhm... so... wanna.. come over.. or something?". It just sounds better. I don't know. You tell me?
