I'm a big Seinfeld fan. And anyone who has watched that show probably knows what Festivus is.

It's an alternate celebration to Christmas. And instead of having a Christmas tree, you gather around an aluminum pole.

Funny shit. And instead of celebrating with gifts, you air all your greivances with everyone. And the evening ends with something called the 'The Feats of Strength' where you wrestle with the head of the household and try to pin him to the ground.

We've never actually celebrated Festivus before. But it sounds fun. It's supposed to be celebrated on Decemeber 23rd but why not do it today?

1) Do you have any greivances you'd like to air publicly?

2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?

3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?

4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that)

5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst?

I wish everyone out there a great holiday season. Merry Christmas, Happy Festivus, Happy Hanukkah (a little late), and Happy Yule (that was yesterday).

Whatever you celebrate, I hope it is and was a good one.

I think festivus is a much better holiday.  Less expensive too.  I'd even enjoy the feats of strength, though I'd probably get creamed.

    1) Do you have any greivances you'd like to air publicly? No, it's not in my nature to air greivances publicly unless that's the only option.  I prefer one to one greivances.

    2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?
No, I guess I'm boring that way.

    3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?
Give, definately.  Every year I scour the stores and online for just the perfect gift for everyone on my list.

    4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that) I must have been pretty young, because I don't remember.  I think if my dad would have stuck around I would have believed longer since he's a much more convincing liar than my mom. (no insult intended)

    5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst? Each year is different.  If I've had a significant loss such as the death of someone I was close to, the holidays become hard.  On a good year they are fun.

    1) Do you have any greivances you'd like to air publicly?
Ummm.....I have a grieveance but I won't air publicly. I will just save it in my head and know that this person will probably get what is coming to them eventually!

    2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?
I don't think so.....we're pretty typical with our holidays!

    3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?
Giving presents is the best!! I like seeing people open up what I give them. But I like getting presents too, of course....LOL

    4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that)
I think I was probably about 8 or 9......but I never told my parents I figured it out. I didn't want Santa to stop giving me gifts!

    5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst?
They have been bad for me in the past.......but I think this year it's the best!

    1) Do you have any grievances you'd like to air publicly?
Yes, I would like to say to my neighbors that I hate their evil barking dog. I'm sick of listening that yappy little thing when I'm trying to watch TV. I wish it would just shut up.....

    2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?
You already know all of our holiday traditions, but I guess no one else does. One of my favorite ones is when 'Santa' hides money in the Christmas tree. Remember how we used to fight each other and destroy everything just to find it? Good times.

    3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?
I like giving presents. I just suck at buying them. But I'm always much happier to give them because it makes other people happy.

    4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that)
I was 8 I think. I found a Toys R Us sticker on the racetrack Santa made me for me in his workshop. But like Natalie said, I didn't let on that I knew. I pretended I still believed until I was at least 12. That's when our parents just gave up pretending because they figured we weren't that stupid.

    5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst?
In the past, I'd have to say it was the worst. It sucks to be lonely at Christmas. But now, I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Happy Festivus! Wanna wrestle Dad later? :-P

    1) Do you have any greivances you'd like to air publicly?
I don't really have any grievances with my family, but there are a couple of other people who I'm annoyed with. Like the lady at Best Buy who called me a dirtbag. If you're reading this, and you're that lady, you're a total assbag. I hope Santa leaves you a pile of reindeer shit in your stocking. Enough said.

    2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?
I think the best one is the idea of rescuing of a crappy tree from the tree lot. One good tree, and one piece of crap with no needles on it. I love that wacky tradition.

    3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?
I like giving them. But I like getting them too. In the end though, it's all about the giving.

    4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that)
I was 7. I snuck downstairs after I was supposed to be asleep and I saw my dad putting together my new bike. But he never saw me and I kept the secret to myself because I didn't want Kyle to know it was all a sham. I wanted him to keep believing it.

    5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst?
Best time of year. I get cranky about the stress but in the end I love it. I just hate traffic and evil people at stores.

Ms. Ironic.....I think Festivus sounds like an aweome holiday too. I could go for a little Feats of Strength action.

Miss Natty.....it's very good of you to want to keep your greivances to yourself. I'm sure that person will get what they deserve eventually too.

I think your Christmas will be extra special this year too. Happy Holidays.

Kyle.....ah yes. We had our own Feats of Strength over the hidden Santa money. That was fun.

I understand about the barking dog too. I hate that too.

I think we should definitely wrestle Dad to the ground just to see his expression. He'll probably kick our asses though.

Natty....yes that's your present. Do you like it?

Nah, I got something better than that. But you can't beat a donation to a fake charity in your name, right?

    1) Do you have any greivances you'd like to air publicly? I can't think of any greivances at all that I even have.  So, no.

    2) Do you have any off the wall holiday traditions that no one else does?
None, that  I can think of

    3) Presents. Is it better to give than receive?
Honestly, I like them both, I think, but giving is definitely better.

    4) How old were you when you realized Santa wasn't real? (if this is news to you, sorry about that)
Honestly, Are you trying to tell me something?

    5) The holidays. Best time of year or the worst?
Holidays are the very best time of the year because I get to get up in the morning and see what Santa left me.
