I was just visiting a doctor friend of mine who was bemoaning the fact that her two partners in the practice think she's "the dragon lady," while her patients send her cards thanking her for her kindness, thoughtfulness and patience.  Misunderstood. Misjudged. Why won't people do what they agree to do? Why won't people follow logical rules?

A ONE on the Enneagram, hell-bent on self-improvement, begs others to tell them what they're doing wrong, and gets no answer. It was a blast of insight.

I thought maybe a blog dedicated to the frustration of being a ONE might be useful. I didn't find one, so I'm starting one.  Because I'm a ONE, I want to give the whole world great advice the instant I figure something out. And maybe we can see ourselves in others, etc. etc. etc. and occasionally look up from FOUR-like morbid introspection and have a little SEVEN-like fun now and then!

omg, i am a one too. And that sounds like me when i'm not in what you wrote about 4. Actually maybe i am a 4 that goes to one?  Cos you can change, can't you?

I grew up a 4, but i'm a one when i'm not being a 4. Does that make sense? Bec a four couldn't relate to either parent. Whereas a one has an ok relationship with one parental figure (i can't remember which one).

    is that how you are?

i find this topic really interesting. Do you know more about it?

    phoeby.
