it's just so dreary here.
we rarely ever get winter....we just get grey....and more grey.....and soggy soggy....spongelike weather.
the grass here is greener in the winter than it is in the summer.
it hasn't stopped raining for well over a month, maybe two.
literally.
i mean......here or there....maybe it will stop raining for like an hour at a time.....sometimes as many as 5 hours at a time.
but even then the air is misty......you simply cannot walk outside this time of year without getting damp. ....or soaked through.
mud.....EVERYWHERE.
soggy spongelike ground EVERYWHERE
the sun was kinda a white round spot through the greyness yesterday......that's the most we've seen of the sun in WEEKS and you could look right at it.
it gets greyish light at 7:30 am.....gets a little more greyish light through the day....then fades into grey gloom after noon....darkish grey by 3:30.....getting darker fast......completely dark by 5pm........
and rain rain rain.........40 degrees here in winter feels like 10 degrees anywhere else.....it's so WET. and WINDY.
people get hypothermia here in the summer when it's 60+ degrees out.
this place reminds me of eeyore.

I like Eeyore. :-D And rain. I can definitely see how most people would find constant grayness gloomy though, and I hope you get a sunny day or two soon!

desty.....it's awesome....*laughing* but it makes you understand why christmas lights are such a big thing here.
most of the buildings in town are covered in lights from roof to ground.

    ferny.....*laughing* um......that doesn't happen till february......
the most we can hope for till then is SNOW.that's what we hope for here......cause then it gets lighter.
it will rain through february.....and then it will REALLY rain.......but it will be sunny at the same time....that's when the daffodils come up.

*laughing* ......again...the sun does not come out here till spring.
    luckily spring happens early here.

    spring is AWESOME here.
you wake up one morning sometime the end of february or beginning of march and EVERYTHING has completely EXPLODED green.....just overnight! it's BEAUTIFUL.
it makes you feel sooo alive.

and summer here is awesome too....cause then it's light till 11pm.

See, that the reason i love Washington (lived in Seattle for 3 years)

I have the exact opposite problem now...its constantly BRIGHT...and HOT in the summer, don't even get me started...but even in winter there is only sun, sun, sun...I pray for clouds, and rain would be a blessing!

The weather does sound yucky.  I hope it clears up soon for you.  I know gloomy days affect my mood too.

Same thing here rain, more rain, warm for Iceland over 50 and dark. I'd rather have frost and snow and still weather. I forgot to mention it is bowing like crazy.

it's been kinda cold this side...and yet it's meant to be summer...for us it's bad ...because we miss the sunshine and then we cant have game drives because the parks are too muddy...it's so sad...and lots of plane delays etc, which just kills our efforts to get all tourists to southern africa

We had a winter weather advisory going on and the roads were really slick this morning. But, as with anything, there was a pretty side to it. I snapped a photo that I thought I would share with you.

This is the view from my back porch...
