Thanks Mamie, baby. It's one quilt I won't give away because it means so much to me. Now I made a quilt for my mom that I "tried out" all last winter. Just so I was sure it would be a good one. But I did finally give it to her.
Secret, it sounds wonderful. And I bet every time you see it, you think of your grandma. See? A little bit of her love every time you cover yourself with it. That's what makes it beautiful.
Thanks, quiet. except for two, I've given all of the ones I make away. Both of the ones I kept aren't the prettiest ones I've done, but I love them for the memories behind them.
Oh, also I stumbled across a website you might like -- lots of good info. www.quilterstv.com
ah Mimi, you're reminding me of a quilt I received as a wedding gift. The Mom of a good friend of mine made it. Sunbonnet Sue, I think the pattern is called - not my favourite pattern, but it was made from scraps of fabric from my friend's clothes that her Mom had made. Was a wonderful gift.
oh and don't get me started on sleeping under a quilt that my Mom made. She learned how to quilt in her 60s. I know it was as a way to leave something tangible of her with us. Now both my sons and I can cuddle under a part of her.
