I spent lunch doing a little retail therapy so I had to rush back to work by the time I was finished paying for my purchases. (Have you ever noticed how the line at the register goes slower when you're hungry?)  Despite rushing back to work I stopped at the boutique grocery store rather than fast food and picked up my lunch from the premade deli items.

I had a black bean and rice burrito, roasted almonds and a Sanpellegrino Limonata for lunch back at my desk.  Yum! It even cost me about the same as if I had bought a "number" combo meal from a fast food place.

What do you have for lunch when you're in a hurry?

okay, I can't even pronounce that so what IS sanpellegrino limonata? it can't be a wine if you went back to work!  LOL or maybe it was!!
lets see at 4am..my lunch at work I had general tso chicken and mixed vegies I brought from home. Yours sounds way better than mine~

quietone - sanpellegrino limonata is an Italian imported sparkling lemonade that I just LOVE!  It's irrational, but for $.99 it's a craziness I can live with.  Actually, your chicken sounds good to me.  Maybe for dinner .......

I had a liver sausage. Just a piece

Today for lunch I was at home and not feeling that well. Plus I was lazy. So I had a glass of tomato juice and big thing of Ramen noodles. It wasn't much and I'm pretty much starving right now.

skald - Your self control is amazing.  I'm afraid that I would be snacking all afternoon if I tried that.

ET - the tomato juice probably helped out your immune system, but the Ramen is kind of a filler.  I know how hard it is to get excited about food when you're not feeling well.  I usually resort to dry cereal when I'm home sick and lazy.

Yeah, I wanted chicken soup, but we didn't have any of that. So the chicken flavored Ramen was the closest thing. But I'm thinking I need something much better for dinner.

ET - Funny how chicken flavored Ramen never hits the spot like the real thing.  I like chicken soup when I have a cold too, it's soothing.  I'm sure Natalie will help you out with getting a solid meal made.  She seems like the nurturing type and I'm sure she's already thinking of a good for you meal.

I never have time for lunch during the week, so I end up with a medium Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla Coffee, with cream and sugar.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Dec 13, 2007....
pickers - Mmmmmm, coffee!  What has you so busy you don't have time for food?!
  • lfbno7 said on Dec 13, 2007....
During the week I don't eat lunch. I just eat whatever my wife gave me to bring to work, and I eat it during the morning. Then at lunch time I go to the gym or go for a walk weather permitting or sit somewhere and read. Eating whatever my wife packed for me is a great solution since I'm very indecisive. If I hate it I tell her not to give me that anymore. So basically, whatever you make and stick in a baggie is what I eat for lunch.

i treated myself today to a fried fish burger and fries and a coke - totally blowing my diet to smithereens. For some reason this is comfort food for me (even tho my stomach has started to grumble with fried foods)

I usually dont eat lunch, even tho I am a full time mommy and could eat all day long if I wanted to. However, if I eat breakfast I wont eat lunch, or vice versa.

Because i had group therapy after lunch today I needed the comfort food!

I usually cook a healthy meal for lunch.  It's usually something like grilled salmon or chicken with a salad or veggies.  My evening meal is usually soup or something light on carbs like that.

Today I had McDonald's.  It was the first or second time since August.  I had chicken nuggets, fries and a Diet Dr. Pepper.  I was craving the fries.  I had been for a while.  They were ok, but not awesome.  I think I can call that craving defeated for a while.  :-)

Well, I have breakfast around 8.  Leave the house at 10.  Teach from 10:30-11:30.  Then I have a 15 minute drive to teach another class from 12:00-2:00.
so only 15 minutes and no place to stop in between except a convenience store and Dunkin Donuts.  Then it's time to go home, so I usually just grab a snack at home and wait 'til dinner.

Mr7 - So you have 2 meals a day during the week?  I wish I had someone to pack a lunch for me.  I'm a very unreliable lunch packer.

PDQ - I understand about the comfort food.  I'll snag McDonald fries when I'm feeling especially stressed at work.  Something about the fats and salts is emotionally soothing.

CW - Your lunches sound much better than mine.  I tend to pick up something handy so that I can fit in some shopping, reading, walking, etc.

pickers - that's a pretty packed schedule!  I can see now how the coffee is just enough to keep you rolling until dinner.
