Last week I wasn't at work - not even close to a computer or mobile phone!  I spent the week as a volunteer staff member on a camp for abused and neglected kiddies.  The camp was absolutely amazing, and so also the kids, but it was exhausting.  I spent most of the weekend sleeping, trying to catch up on all the hours lost :P

Yesterday I had to be back at work which was really tiring - and frustrating.  You know how it is sometimes.
But then after work I went to check some wedding gown patterns, and I might just have found one which I like.  I'll go to another branch which has the pattern in stock today.

I also saw some lovely silk - not to expensive either!!

But then lastly, I'm struggling with the table overlays.  I want organza overlays, in a darkish yellowy green - difficult to describe... But I saw it in a magazine, and now I can't find it anywhere.  The kind I'm looking for was more opaque than that they have in the shops - I'm suspecting they had a double layer though... Any advice on this.  I'm still contemplating whether to buy & make, or just hire the overlays.... *Sigh*

Organizing a wedding is a huge job!!!

danette, good luck with the wedding planning! when will it be?

that's very cool that you were volunteering at that camp. it's sad that there is a need for them. about how old were the kids you saw there? and how did you come to be involved with the camp?

Thanx ed - wedding is on the 8th of March, making sure that its a summer wedding, but also trying to avoid the heavy summer rains.

The camp was really something hey - amazing, and sad at the same time.
The kids ranged from 7 - 13 years, but all with the same thing in common - an incredible amount of baggage.

My now fiancé was on the camp last year - he got involved through family, so I decided to give it a try this year.  I was a bit skeptical - not that I'm afraid of kids, or hard work, but I expected myself to be much more emotional whilst being with the kids.  In the end I was actually surprised that I was able to compose myself so well, though I did cry after they'd gone to bed.  Its just so so sad.

Depressing to lose interest in a beloved series by such a matter after enjoying it immensely all of these years, but leave it to Russell T Davies to throw his beloved fans into a dark ditch. Way to go you tool!...
