the giants definitely didn't play a good game today, but they did play just well enough. boy do i hope they sit plaxico burress for next week's game against washington, though: they're really going to need him healthy in the last 2 games of the season.

harried, mamie: mcnabb looked pretty good today, although his receivers, not so much. ugh!

how'd everyone else's teams do?

i'm just taking a break from watching the pittsburgh/new england game. :>

How did I know you were gonna post, Ed? Unfortunately, due to the insane number of errands I ran today, I ended up missing the game. Well, best of luck in the wild card race, not that you have much competition there.

My best friend, she lives in Baltimore, is going to the Colts-Ravens game. I'd watch that because I love watching the Colts play, but I'm going out tonight.

infernal: gah, you're a dallas fan?! well, romo's really hard not to like--even for an inveterate dallas hater like me.

harried: shame you couldn't see the game--mcnabb showed all the evasion skills we've come to expect from him. he made strahan look positively clumsy on one or two near-sacks. i'm teling you, the man's got football left in him!

Im a big cowboy fan too i love Tony Romo, im a bit jealous of Jessica Simpson though.  I hear they are an item now.  I just hope she doesnt interfere with his game.

well, Ed, I had to catch the play by play on the small screen in a Maryland restaurant near Rockville MD as I was at a cheer comp with daughter. I then got the sorry scores from the local HS bleachers from a dad who had his crackberry. I was not impressed with any of the plays I saw, but if you say so...I think the old donovan was more entertaining and the giants looked okay to me...good for you!! I have taken down my "go green" signs off my front lawn and am closing my big mouth for the season. I might even stop eating chunky soup. Mamie

starchini: I'm not allowed to say this out loud, being in Eagles Country and all, but Dallas is looking really, really good. I wouldn't be surprised if the scoop up the whole NFC in the post-season.
  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
harried: i dunno, green bay looks pretty good, if you ask me...

  • harriedpsychmajor said on Dec 10, 2007....
I'd love to see Green Bay make it all the way. Even in the last couple of seasons, where they didn't look good at all, I've always found them really entertaining to watch. Imagine them and Indy at the Bowl. That'd be one hell of a match.

Speaking of the Colts, I IMed my best friend late last night, asking her about the Ravens game. Apparently, Indy absolutely spanked the Ravens.
  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
gotta confess, am not at all surprised indy rose to the occasion. and c'mon, how's anybody but new england representing the AFC this year?

I can't bear to see the Pats win. Hell, I'd rather see Cleveland win. But if there's any team that'd be able to take down New England, it'd be the Jaguars. They're another one of those crazy-awesome teams that don't get the recognition they deserve.

  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
harried: i feel your pain, dude, but nobody in the conference can take 'em!

mamie: sorry, we must've been commenting at the same time last night! nah, i think donovan definitely looked like his old self. sadly, his receivers definitely didn't do a lot, though. trent cole and brian dawkins had themselves some good games, too.

well I just did that again on your other blog, [throws back the cold one and ignores that it is 2 in the afternoon]....:)) gotta love B Dawk. and also I love how he gets all fired up for the games, fun to watch!
I think I am having a love hate relationship with the Patriots...it might be jealousy though so don't take me serious!
    thanks for the suds!
  • harriedpsychmajor said on Dec 10, 2007....
The Pats' next two games are division games. I mean, come on. The Jets and the Dolphins. Yawn. Are you worried about Week 17? They're coming to the Meadowlands, after all.

Come on, somebody's gotta take down the Patriots. I think the Colts or the Jags could do it. The rest of the AFC is not as weak as the stats might suggest.
  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
mamie: ah, i must've missed it there! yeah, dawkins gives me fits as a giants fan--the man's amazing. and you're welcome, of course. :>

harried: yeah, exactly. which means that when the pats show up in the meadowlands, they'll have locked up home field. which means belichick wi'll be gunning for the perfect season. he'll play his first team through the game, instead of resting 'em.

sadly, no other team in the AFC has a chance to do so. i don't think the jags are as good as either dallas or indy, myself, and neither of those 2 teams got it done, either.

The Giants have the potential to be great, but they need Eli to be better than he has been playing. I agree, Plaxico needs to rest, but I don't think that will be an option for the team because they need him to play to win, just like they need Strahan and Shockey to win. I hope the Giants go far, and I predict them getting the Wild Card but I don't know how far they will go in the playoffs, and as far as the AFC is concerned, the Colts and Patriots are the team to beat...
  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
elleb: honestly, i figure that they should rest plaxico after the first half of washington if the game is going well and sit him for the buffalo game the following week--that game should have no playoff implcations whatsoever, i wouldn't think. and yeah, i definitely the pats are the team to beat although i'm less certain re: indy, esp given the injuries they're fighting.

Silver didnt the Cowboys beat the Giants W45/35? Wasnt it also the first game of the season? lol, just teasin silver. Cowboys are after all 12/1. They beat the Lions by the skin of their teeth but pulled thru W28/27. GO COWBOYS! Im super impressed with Tony Romo, hes the next Troy Aikman!!! I actually went to the pre season game in Minnesota and we were all paranoid bc they lost, but Tony Romo didnt even play that game. I think they were saving his legs so he could run all over the Giants : P Harried i absolutly agree I think Dallas is gonna make it all the way this season. I invite you all to check out the all knowing website www.dallascowboys.com
  • silverwhisper said on Dec 10, 2007....
starchini: yeah, thanks a lot! :p

honestly, i think that if romo doesn't suffer from sophomore slump, we're gonna be talking about him 12 years from now, chasing the records of peyton manning and tom brady.
