Now Iam listening to this song.... Forever love... I promise you... We will be together... The first time I laid my eyes on you, I knew... We'd spend this life side by side I still feel the same though you're so far away I swear that you'll be mine. Forever love. I promise you Someday we'll be together.Forever Love. I won't give up.No matter what. I'll be waiting for you.Forever Love. Minutes and hours and years may go by... But My heart knows nothing of time... So don't cry...just keep me right there in your dreams... And hold on to these words of mine... Forever Love, I promise you... Someday we'll be together, Forever Love I won't give up, no matter what... I'll be waiting for you, forever Love... Love is the road to our destiny.Nothing can change what is meant to be. Forever Love ... Oh... I won't give up. No Matter what. I'll be waiting for you. Forever Love. I'll be waiting for you. Forever Love...Forever Love. and this is the link.... springsteen always speaks to my soul, whether you're talking about his very raw early stuff like growin' up to something quite different such as worlds apart on the rising. don't have the seeger sessions stuff as i'm not a big seeger fan. if i'm feeling particularly angry: NIN's head like a hole. ed

Springsteen's The Rising is one of my favorites. I'm not a big fan of Seeger either, but I have heard most of The Seeger Sessions and it's really good. I'm not normally a country music fan, but right now, The Dixie Chicks new album Taking the Long Way really calls to me on many levels. I'm particularly fond of both Easy Silence and Not Ready to Make Nice from that album. I also just picked up Aerosmith's Honkon' on Bobo, a blues album with an Aerosmith edge to it. It's different than most of their stuff but there is something fantastic about both Eyesight to the Blind and Jesus is on the Main Line. I don't know why, but when I am feeling particularly angy, I end up listening to a compilation of Pat Benetar hits or Billy Idol.

My playlist is always eclectic as hell: Diamond Rio, Foreigner, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Staind, Blackhawk, John Michael Montgomery, some anime themes, Handel's "Messiah," Metallica, Orff's "Carmina Burana" - you get the idea. Most music speaks to me on some level, but I'd say that one of the most moving songs I've heard lately was probably "Hallelujah" - Rufus Wainwright.

I'm into rock believe me, so it's with not a little embarrassment that I confess that I've been listening to....... Jazz/Folk/Rock fusion ....Dave Mathews Band There I've said it. I own everything he has recorded and have them loaded on a 5 longplay minidiscs. Each one can run for about 5 hours continuous. I drive people CRAZY.

I used to listen to a lot of music. I played a lot of music, too. At some point, however, I lost it. Music is no longer in my life. Even now, all I hear is the drone of the fan and the clacking of the keyboard. When I'm on the bike, all I hear is the wind. I mean, I'm not opposed to it or anything, but I no longer seek it. Isn't that weird?
• hunter_boyce_chandler said on Aug 02, 2006....
Grape... Get online and google "Where's you Head at" by the Basement Jaxx. Play it on your machine and I'll bet you will be tapping a foot. Then listen to Il Nino's Resurection. These are a bunch of very good Chicano rockers who are struggling with the reality of life in South Central while searching for god. You will be hooked. This is not christian rock (spits) it is real latin heavy metal. Then and only then will you be saved. Put your hand on the monitor and close you eyes....I'm getting a word ...... god wants you to give me your credit card number....

Still on my Deep Purple streak. I have listened to all 18 studio albums several times over the last few weeks and made ten mini-disks of mixes of my favourite tracks. Now I am looking for more and tracking down where the other members played when not in DP. Of course there's Whitesnake, Rainbow and Gillan, but there is a huge family of artists who have played together in various bands. It is almost like a sports league where players are traded to different teams. There is so much music out there! Hey, HBC! You have mini-disks? The small, floppydisk-like things that are re-writable and you can shuffled the order of the songs, edit and delete stuff and add new songs and so on? They are really popular over here in Japan. Even rental cars come with a mini-disk player. I brought mine to Canada and people hardly knew what they were.
• hunter_boyce_chandler said on Aug 02, 2006....
Yea, I think they are great but now I have to buy blanks on line. I have two player/recorders and carry one with me all the time. If I transfer in LP4 format I can get 7 albums on one disk. sweet.....
• hotaka said on Aug 02, 2006....
Aren't they expensive? (and what's with the italics? i'm not typing in italics). I bought a pack of five in Japan for the equivalent of about $5.50US. In Canada it was the same price for one disk! Must be the taxes. How much are you paying, if you don't mind me asking? Sorry, Zayda. Umm... listened to Third Eye Blind and Foo Fighters the other day when the girlfriend was over. I think she's not into DP so much (at all).
• hunter_boyce_chandler said on Aug 02, 2006....
Someone didnt close the html tag for italics. I fixed it. I pay about 2 to 3 dollars for each disk. They are getting hard to find. Sony has given up marketing the system in the states. The only thing they have left is a data version. It is a loss.for music But it means I have a sound system that no one else has.
• hotaka said on Aug 02, 2006....
Everyone seems to be into i-PODs these days anyway. Not me. I bought my portable MD player before leaving Japan before and I am going to use it until it stops working. They are easy to find in Japan. You can buy them at the 100 yen shops ($1 shops) and even at 7-11. Sorry, Zayda. And we listened to... umm... Rainbow and Sloan too!

For me it varies, sometimes by mood, othertimes by what is stuck in my head. Over the last few days for me its been Otep - Buried Alive Audioslave - Doesn't remind me Slipknot - Duality & Vermillion (1 & 2) Dark Lotus - We Danced & Call upon your gods & Hurt myself & I wanna die Think those are the ones that have been stuck in my head over the last week or two.

Right now, I keep hearing the words to the Dixie Chicks Easy Silence running through my head, but only a few certain lines: ...and I Come to find a refuge in the Easy silence that you make for me It's okay when there's nothing more to say to me And the peaceful quiet that you make for me The way you keep the world at bay... I'm missing a good friend of mine because when the world is a mess, he is my Easy Silence. He has been there for me at all the lowest points of my life, keeping the world at bay to give me the silence I needed. I could use that Easy Silence right now because of the crashing of the world around me, but he is in Iraq.

Ain't it obvoius? Right now, I am listening to "Following" by Chungking. It's included in the Nip/Tuck OST. It's a very relaxing song... powerful enough to transport the listener to a nostalgic or melancholic mood, depending on your personality. Anybody who likes this song and who wants to know more of my crazy playlist, message me - if that's possible here.

Today's playlist on the iPod was: Ray Charles Ravel Billy Idol Sammy Hagar Los Lonely Boys Aerosmith Handel Heart Josh Groban NIN Sanatana Tony Bennett Kid Rock Willy Nelson Johnny Cash Bon Jovi Right at this moment, I'm listening to Sugarland's Stand Back Up because it's something I need to remind myself of.

I have a very eclectic collection of music. It ranges from Marilyn Manson to the Dixie Chicks. Right now, the one that rings the most true is (surprisingly) Saint by Marilyn Manson. There's some lines in it that strike me pretty well: You wanted perfect You got your perfect But now I'm too perfect for someone like you I was a dandy in your ghetto with A snow white smile and you'll Never be as perfect whatever you do What's my name, what's my name? Hold the S because I am an AINT What's my name, what's my name? Hold the S because I am an AINT It reminds me that I can't be perfect. No one can. And I can only be what I want to be. Not what anyone/everyone else wants me to be. I know a lot of his music isn't the greatest, and he does go for the shock value in his videos and everything. But a few of his songs actually say something if you listen close enough. At least, I get something from them. But I'm weird, so I guess that's okay.

Amos Lee

John Legend

Legend was the breakaway artist at last year's Grammies.  He was nominated for 8 grammies and won 3 or 4 (I can't remember.).  He has a terrific duet with Ray Charles on Ray Charles' Genuis and Friends.

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of Amos Lee. He's just now getting more popular airplay and appearances on Leno, Letterman, and the like despite having something like 3 albums out.  He's more of a folk/blues artist.

Wild Roses ~~ Kimmie Rhodes

I've seen them down in the valley,
wild roses that grow by the side of the road,
and they don't really mind if you pick them
and they don't really care if you leave them alone.
Wild roses... Wild roses open their hearts gently by the by.
Wild roses grow unattended and nobody ever knows why.
When the sun goes down in the valley
there's music in the night that it brings,
and the roses quietly listen
to the song that the whipporwill sings.

Wild roses ... wild roses open their hearts gently by the by.
Wild roses grow unattended and nobody ever knows why.
You won't hear the sound of them leaving
as they softly fade into the snow,
and they don't really care if you pick them.
Wild roses just grow by the side of the road.

Wasted Time ~~ The Eagles
• Zayda said on Dec 31, 2006....
Today, Wasted Time by the Eagles has been running through my head for the better part of the day.  I wonder if the fates are trying to tell me something.  It seems like that song has been sticking with me a great deal lately.

Wasted Time

Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my god, you can't believe it's happening
Again
Your baby's gone, and you're all alone
And it looks like the end.

And you're back out on the street.
And you're tryin' to remember.
How will you start it over?
You don't know what became.
You don't care much for a stranger's touch,
But you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone this far
Down the line
And I know whats been on your mind
You're afraid its all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
About the first time that you fell
You didn't love the boy too much, no, no
You just loved the boy to well, farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
About tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something to
Make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin' what
I left behind and from worrying 'bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone.
So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can
Get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn't really
Wasted time
