To the Guardian Angel-in-Chief, Battalion assigned to Mimi's son:

A conversation that begins with,  "I've been trying to decide whether to tell you this or not," is one that a mother is probably not going to like.

I understand you and your band of angels have been busy again.  Seems T was in the wrong place at the wrong time at work, and was nearly crushed by several hundred pounds of concrete cinderblocks.  That's as far as I let him get.  I don't need to know any details to help me get really worked up about it.

On the outside, I was calm and made sure he was alright, and let him talk out his feelings about what he called his "near death experience".  On the inside, well, you know me -- I was pretty much hysterical.  The idea of anything happening to either of my children...  Well, I just cannot even go there.

So, once again, I'm here to say thank you to the angels who grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and got him out of the way fast.  He's my baby and always will be.  He and his sister are the chief reason I keep soldiering on.  I can't protect him from the unpredictability of life any more, so I'm glad the Big Boss saw fit to assign him more than one guardian angel.  From the bottom of my heart, this mother thanks you.

I have no doubt this won't be the last time you'll be hearing from me.  Don't forget to wear your hard hats around that kid of mine.

Mimi

    I'm so glad your son was okay! That is very scary. And I do believe in guardian angels too. I'm relieved that your son had one (or more!) looking out for him.

    Mimi......I am sure on the inside you were falling apart.  Thank God he is ok........To think of anything bad happening to your children is so scary.  I am glad you have a happy ending to this story.

    Dontcha just love those Guardian angels........

    (I think the ones assigned to my son are currently getting paid time and a half.)

    ((hugs))

    He's about your age, e_t.  I've depended on his angel many times to yank him back from trouble.

    Jenna!  Haven't seen you in a while!  This whole conversation took place at three in the morning over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  In a way it was pretty cool to hear his thoughts about his life.  But sheesh, couldn't we do this without involving construction accidents?  Good grief.

    I'm glad T is okay, Mimi. I think, though, that sometimes it's better not to know all of the details.

    About three years ago, one of my husband's troopers (whom I babysat for about six years when he was a child, BTW) was investigating a crash with another trooper when an out-of-control car came speeding toward them. The driver missed the troopers by mere inches; I think he or she ended up crashing into the ambulance.

    It just so happened that a cruiser's in-car camera caught the incident on tape. The trooper took the video home that night and showed it to his wife, who promptly (and understandably) freaked out when she saw her husband literally running and diving for his life.

    MissMimi, I'm so glad his angels are hovering!
    2 of mine have nice boring desk jobs, thank God! The other 2 are the reason my hair is gray.  One is a prison guard and the other works up on power poles.  I hope their angels don't take coffee breaks.

    I can imagine you were pretty shook up.  I know that when my kids manage to get themselves just banged up I nearly have a stroke.  Boys seem to be especially talented at stopping their mother's hearts. :)

    Thank you all.  He left today for New Jersey and promised me he'd avoid giving me heart failure while he was gone.   Smart aleck.

    How terrifying! Gawds... it's fantastic that he somehow got out of the way. =X__X=; More, though, I'm impressed that you were able to keep yourself so calm-- like, seriously in awe. There are very few people that would be able to listen to someone's concerns while they're upset about things themselves (even if listening would help). And that made NO sense... at all. =^___^=; Uhm... hopefully, you'll get it? Right? XD;

    One way or the next, we're so glad for you both! X3;

This is a GOOD one! I still can't believe this one myself........
does it matter???...
because i'm fat......
One of my friends at work was telling me about this date she went on the other night, and she wanted a man's opinion about the whole thing. I was more than happy to tell her what I thought, but I am curious what other people might think too....
